The uncompromising harsher electronic nature of PROGRAMMABLE FUTURE might take listeners with some surprise as it is quite different to other releases in the catalogue of Daniel Brandt. The upbeat sound of the album can be explained with the fact as the material was written for OBERFUNKER and consideration for the EBM/Dark Electro/Industrial act Neurobash. Daniel Brandt came to work together with the band as a producer for a number of albums between 2009 and 2014.

Some of the material was originally released as a bonus EP in 2006 and was a companion for the retrospective release EDITABLE PAST which has now been released in an updated version together with PROGRAMMABLE FUTURE. On the these three tracks Daniel Brandt also provided vocals while all instruments where performed by Oberfunker. The arrangement was a cooperation between both artists.

The remaining tracks of the original release has also been re-released by Dose Response Recording as an EP under the name of OBERFUNKER.
